In the spring of 1996 the Skoda salesman Claes Bjorkman at Auto Forum in the town of Malmo, Sweden invited his customers to an information meeting. We were a number of Skoda owners who took the opportunity and started an auto club. The Skoda Club of Skåne was started.
Auto clubs are not unusual, but they are mostly clubs for owners of very exclusive or old vehicles. It is probably very uniqe to have an auto club with a new car model as a common interest. Our club has about 160 members, many of them living in Skåne which is the most southern part of Sweden.
The membership fee is very modest, only 50 SEK per year (5 Euro), which pays for postage when we mail information to our members.
